Currently based in Leipzig, Lluís Ferreiro Carbonell is a composer dedicated to the intersection of rigorous formal structures and detailed timbral exploration. His music, deeply rooted in the aesthetics of Second Modernity and the immersive qualities of Drone Music, seeks to navigate the complexities of sound through microtonal precision and detailed notation.
Lluís is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Leipzig under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Claus-Steffen Mahnkopf. His artistic trajectory has been shaped by a diverse range of mentorship, beginning Tanya Borisova Pantova to Demián Luna, with whom he completed his Bachelor's degree at the Liceu Conservatory in Barcelona.
His artistic development has been further shaped by participation in the Darmstädter Ferienkurse 2025 and the Mixtur Workshop, as well as through dialogues with leading contemporary figures including Mark Andre, Georges Aperghis, José María Sánchez-Verdú and Hèctor Parra.
